My service in FMSD began as a parent serving often as a chaperone and FMHS band supporter, which led to serving 7 years in leadership roles of the SIC at each of the three program levels, elementary through the opening two years of NFHS. Subsequently I co-chaired the 2008 bond referendum committee that funded ($96M) the construction of BTMS, DBES, TCES and the NFHS stadium among several other projects and land purchases. All of this, plus much encouragement from the community positioned me to run for a seat on the school board in 2009. Outside of the schools I am an active member of St. Johns UMC, and am serving my 15th year on the executive board of the Palmetto Council Boy Scouts of America. In my spare time I am employed by 3M as a Technical Supervisor (Engineering) in the R&D group.
